Barry Can't Swim returns with an infectious 12' 4-track EP titled 'More Content' featuring Laurence Guy and Taite Imogen on Ninja Tune imprint Technicolour, out on the 24th June 2022.
The Edinburgh-born, London based producer is quickly making a name for himself for making his own unique brand of world-inspired, jazz-inflicted electronic music. Classically trained Joshua Mannie is a hotly tipped multi-instrumentalist (piano, guitar, bass, drums), producer and DJ making heads turn and feet dance on the international club circuit.
His knack for lush textures and blissed-out vocal samples have gained impressive accolades in his burgeoning career, making him one to keep an eye on - he was added to Billboard's '10 Dance Artists To Watch in 2022'. Tipped as The Blessed Madonna's 'Ones To Watch for 22' and Annie Mac's 'New Names for 2021', Barry Can't Swim's recent release with Anish Kumar, Blackpool Boulevard, scored a place on the BBC Radio 1 playlist. The track was also named one of Mixmag's 'Best Tracks of the Year'. He has also radio support from Elton John on Apple 1. His Track 'Blackpool Boulevard' was added on SiriusXM’s Diplo's Revolution and did an official mix for Insomniac Radio. US radio has also supported with spins from KEXP, WFUV, KUVO/KVJZ, and The Face Radio. Other press acclaim has from the likes of Billboard, Mixmag, Clash, Dummy, Line of Best Fit name a few.
